Useful Information
Terms and Conditions
Please contact Celebrate with Cake for clarity on any matter which is not clear or that you do not understand and note that nothing contained here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Timescales
Celebrate with Cake will only accept orders that allow sufficient time to create them to our agreed design. Usually 3 months notice for wedding cakes and 3 weeks for celebration cakes is sufficient. This is to allow for ordering of ingredients and any equipment required. Wedding cakes usually involve 25-30 hours work and celebration cakes, 5-8 hours.
Due to fluctuations in prices of ingredients
and consumables, unless otherwise stated, all prices indicated
within a Quotation are valid for 30 days.
Check Your Order
While we take every measure possible to check orders, it is also the responsibility of the customer to make sure the details on the Quotation are accurate. While we will do everything we can to rectify the situation when an error is made i.e. wrong date or misspelt name, the responsibility lies with the customer to check the details.
Deposits and Payments
Once the order is placed, a deposit of 25% for all cake orders is
required. This deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable.
The order, as detailed in the Quotation, is confirmed on
receipt of the deposit. This is by invoice showing the payment
made and balance due.
Balances for cake orders over £100 are due 21 days before the event.
Balances for celebration cakes are payable on collection/delivery.
Cancelled orders for wedding cakes with less than 14 days notice and
celebration cakes with less than 7 days are payable in full.
Payment may be made by bank transfer, cash or cheque (payable to Mrs
W M Leaney).
Collection
As you will appreciate, once the cake leaves Celebrate with Cake, responsibility then passes to the customer and the company is not liable for any damage in transit. Please be aware that a flat surface is required to retain stability of the cake and it should be secured where possible to remove the risk of movement in transit. If you are unsure, please ask us.
Delivery
It is the customer’s responsibility to inform Celebrate with Cake
of the room and contact at the venue where the cake is to be
delivered.
When a cake is to be delivered it remains the responsibility of
Celebrate with Cake while in transit. Where any damage occurs it is
the sole responsibility of Celebrate with Cake to make good any
damage. If this is not possible, for whatever reason, a full refund
will be given.
For wedding cakes, photographs will be taken of the cake once it is
staged at the venue to ensure that it is set up to the agreed design
and without damage. A signature will be required to accept the cake.
Best Before Dates and Storage
When preparing sponge cakes, especially larger
ones, the cakes need to be prepared two or three days before the
event. While we do everything to ensure that the cake is as fresh as
possible for the event, the best before dates are usually within
three days of the event, especially if fresh buttercream or
chocolate ganache has been used.
Normally, it is best to store your cake in a
cool room in the box provided until your event. Do not refrigerate
as fondant icing will deteriorate.
Any remaining cake should be wrapped in cling
film and stored in the box provided.
Fruit cakes will have a best before of several
weeks after the event.
If any specific storage is required, this will
be notified.
Non-Edible Decorations
During the design process the customer will be
informed of any non-edible decoration that will be used to construct
the cake. The customer must relay this information to the venue /
hosts if they are cutting the cake into portions. The box will be
labelled notifying the customer of any internal supports or
non-edible decorations. Only fresh flowers, checked against the
British Sugarcraft Guild list of non-toxic flowers will be used on
cakes and where used, will be inserted into the cake using food-safe
plastic flower pics .
Allergy Advice
Legislation requires that all food businesses
label their cakes with the ingredients used and identify any
allergens. All of our cakes are provided with this information on
the cake box with the allergens in bold. An allergy sticker will
also be provided.
Customer Satisfaction Guarantee
Should you be unhappy with the cake, Celebrate
With Cake will do everything we can to rectify the matter before
your event. If you are still unsatisfied then we will refund the
price of the cake in return for the product. If
you have a complaint about the taste of the cake, please get in
touch as soon as possible and provide a sample of the cake within 24
hours. For situations where the cake has been
eaten, and therefore not returned, vouchers may be offered.

Data Protection
Celebrate With Cake is committed to ensuring
that your privacy is protected. We are committed to ensuring that
your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access
or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic
and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure any personal
information we collect.
We will not sell, distribute or lease your
personal information to third parties unless we are required by law
to do so.
You may request details of any personal information which we hold about you under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). A small fee may be payable. If you would like a copy of the information held on you please contact Celebrate With Cake.
Naked Cakes
These are created the day before the event and
decorated last minute to ensure that they are fresh. A flavoured
sugar syrup is used to help them retain their moisture. They need to
be served and eaten on the day of the event.
Should the weather be hot on the day of the
event, the cake will be kept chilled for as long as possible before
being put on display.
Marquees
Please ensure you notify us if your event is
taking place in a marquee at the venue.
For celebrations held in marquees, please
ensure that the table that the cake is to be displayed on will be
level, strong and on an even surface. Be aware that temporary wooden
flooring can move slightly.
The temperature within a marquee is much
harder to control on a hot day, therefore the cakes should be put on
display for a minimal time as buttercream and ganache will warm up
and can melt, making the cake unstable. Any fresh flower decorations
will also start to wilt. On a damp day, sugarpaste can start to go
sticky.
Extreme Heat
Summer 2022 was a very hot one! Celebrate With
Cake reserves the right to substitute the top tiers of your wedding
cake for cake dummies which have been decorated to the agreed
design. The real tiers will be boxed as cutting cakes. The bottom
tier will be cake so that you have something to cut for your
photographs. This is to ensure that the cake looks perfect
throughout your reception.
